Maintenance History

Following is a list of maintenance completed on Invincible Summer since purchase as well as upcoming scheduled maintenance during the upcoming winter layup. There is a combination of required maintenance, preventative maintenance, and also many items we replaced for updated cosmetic reasons.


Completed Work, by Year


2021/2022:
[Service completed by Tower Marine, Douglas MI, except as noted]:

  • Serviced mains and generator
  • Replaced impellers on mains and generator
  • Replaced Cablemaster cord connector
  • Replaced leaking plastic water connectors on water heater with brass connectors (by owner)
  • Replaced cockpit ice maker (by owner)
  • Replaced mid-ship bilge pump
  • Replaced hydraulic cylinders on head cover
  • Replaced hydraulic cylinders on stern locker
  • Replaced microwave with combo microwave/air fryer/convection oven (by owner)
  • Replaced coffee pot (by owner)
  • Removed vinyl boat name lettering. Wet sanded and polished transom. Replaced boat name with custom stainless steel lettering ($3,200)
  • Replaced all mattresses with custom made premium mattresses ($4,500, Spine Align, Holland, MI)
  • Replaced A/C water pump and descaled both condensing units
  • Serviced Raymarine Chartplotter; new PCB & updated software (Seawire Marine, Miami, FL)
  • Replaced courtesy ceiling lights in aft stateroom with integrated LED (by owner)


2022/2023:

  • Serviced mains & generator
  • Replaced generator impeller
  • Replaced transom door with stainless steel door custom made by Austin Metalworks (by owner, $3,100)
  • Rebuilt hydraulic cylinders & replaced o-rings/seals on swim platform ($7,500)
  • Bottom paint
  • Replaced vinyl on sunpads (Automotive Interior and Top Specialists, Holland MI)
  • Replaced swim platform control & connector (by owner)
  • Removed vinyl stripe along gunwale
  • Wet sanded, wax & polish entire hull ($4,700)
  • Replaced engine air filters (Baldwin Heavy Duty #PA3867, replaces Cummins #3924540) (by owner)
  • Replaced forward stateroom blinds with custom made blinds (Calico Interior Design, Austin, TX)
  • Replaced curtains both aft staterooms with custom curtains (Calico Interior Design, Austin, TX)
  • Installed new Magma Grill (by owner)
  • Replaced courtesy ceiling lights in salon, forward stateroom, and both heads with integrated LED (by owner)
  • Replaced fresh shore water regulator (by owner)
  • Replaced deckwash water outlet with stainless steel flush-mount hose quick connection (by owner)
  • Overhead Reset (tune-up) and adjust idle RPM on Cummins Engines (Cummins Sales & Service, Grand Rapids, MI)
  • Replaced all engine hoses (Cummins Sales & Service, Grand Rapids, MI)
  • Replaced grid heater relays on both engines (Cummins Sales & Service, Grand Rapids, MI)
  • Repaired vinyl wall near stairs by light switch and vinyl wall by couch near entrance to forward stateroom (Fibrenew Lakeshore, Holland, MI)
  • Replaced cockpit refrigerator (by owner)


2023/2024:

  • Main Engines:
  • collect oil samples from engines and transmissions (samples from all units normal/within spec)
  • changed oil and filters
  • changed transmission oil and filters
  • replaced raw water impellers
  • checked engine mounts
  • Replaced belts
  • inspected hoses and clamps
  • cleaned and oiled air filters
  • Replaced pencil anodes in both engine heat exchangers and starboard exhaust
  • run engines and top-off fluids
  • inspected cooling side of the main engines, clean raw water strainers and test coolant concentration
  • replaced raw water seacocks & sea water hoses from seacocks to strainers


  • Generator:
  • collect oil sample (sample normal/within spec)
  • changed oil and filter
  • Replaced fuel hose
  • changed fuel filters
  • replaced raw water impeller
  • replaced engine air filter element
  • Replaced both belts
  • inspected engine mounts
  • Replaced sea water cooling supply hoses
  • Replaced pencil anode
  • checked and topped off coolant
  • cleaned raw water intake strainers
  • lubricated intake valves


  • Fuel System:
  • changed primary and secondary fuel filters
  • cleaned Racor filter assemblies & replaced o-rings/seals
  • primed fuel system
  • added fuel treatment to tanks


  • Cooling System:
  • cleaned raw water intake strainers
  • lubricated intake valves
  • checked and topped off engine coolant level
  • tested coolant concentration
  • replaced coolant filters for main engines


  • Running gear:
  • replaced cutlass bearings
  • inspected propellers, rudders and struts
  • inspected shaft seals
  • inspected couplers
  • inspected rudder seals
  • Replaced & repositioned steering linkage cylinder rod end and associated hardware
  • checked steering fluid, topped off and bleed/pressurized system as needed
  • Replaced anode for starboard & port prop shafts, trim tabs and hull


  • Batteries:
  • Repaired 20A charger (replaced bad crimp connection on DC charge lead)
  • load tested all batteries and replaced generator battery with group 27 size
  • checked and topped off battery water
  • checked and protected terminals with corrosion protectant
  • inspected alternators, starters, and electrical connections
  • inspected trays, tie downs, and hardware


  • Mechanical Service - Additional
  • Replaced forward bilge pump
  • Replaced three (3) Co2 detectors (by owner)
  • Replaced shower sump (by owner)
  • Replaced fresh water pump
  • Reworked incoming shore water to plumb into pressure side of fresh water pump instead of supply side
  • Installed new Air-Lock Air Purifier System (by owner)
  • Replaced lazarette switch
  • Replaced all blower ducts in engine room & lazarette
  • Inspected Fireboy fire suppression system: Passed (Northwest Fire, Elk Rapids, MI)
  • Inspected fire extinguishers: 1 extinguisher replaced due to recall (Northwest Fire, Elk Rapids, MI)
  • Replaced halogen accent lighting with LED in main cabin and forward stateroom (by owner)


  • Shipwright/Structural/Carpentry/Outside Service:
  • Repair sliding cabin door for smooth operation. Remove helm. Repair sliding door track and trolleys. Reinstall helm.
  • Removed and reset stainless steel thru-hull exhaust ports and transom underwater lights
  • Grind out hull blister in engine room and repair
  • Dry wet spots in hull & compound fill (Dryboat, Grand Rapids, MI; Hull now has 5-year warranty)
  • Replaced fresh water tank (55 gallon)
  • Replaced interior Whisper Wall ceiling; all new track & new fabric (Custom Yacht Interiors & Design, New Bern, NC - Flown in to complete work)
  • Replaced captain chair swivel/bearings (by owner)

In-Process Work


2024/2025:

  • Service mains and generator: Oil & filter change & inspect belts, hoses, electrical connections
  • Inspect all batteries
  • Replace Racor bowls
  • Replace raw water hose from strainers to mains
  • Replace raw water hose from A/C seacock to condensing units
  • Repair oil change system
  • Replace coolant hose from heat exchangers to recovery tanks on mains and generator
  • Reposition & secure ice maker in cockpit to fit into opening better
  • Replace caulking between bottom of cockpit windows and hull on both starboard and port sides
  • Scuff and paint bottom
  • Replace instrument cluster gauges
  • Inspect all underwater through-holes/screens
  • Balance drive shaft
  • Prop scan, fine tune/finish and balance props to within ISO Class 1 pitch tolerances
  • Replace port & starboard running gear lip-style shaft seals
  • Replace VacuFlush duckbill valves, bellows and gaskets on both bowls
  • Replace VacuFlush hoses from toilet to vacuum generator and from vacuum generator to holding tank. Replace waste discharge hose. Replace vent hose (w/no vent filter). Note: Current vent hose exits bow and is too long for proper holding tank oxygenation. If possible, add shorter vent hose that exits either port or starboard side.
  • Install new Groco Sweetank Odor Neutralization System for black tank
  • Repair scratches on hull above and below gunwale on port mid-ship
  • Replace fridge/freezer in salon with a stainless steel Vitrifrigo DP2600IXD4-F-3 with door hinges on left side
  • Cosmetically repair hull from DryBoat work
  • Remove wash-down pump on starboard side of starboard engine.
  • Cosmetically repair small area on hull above anchor
  • Replace seals in 2 swim platform actuators
  • Replace rods in 2 swim platform actuators
  • Make and secure new canvas cover with rubber seal edges on top and both sides for deck anchor locker to protect against rain/water intrusion
  • Replace shower control valve and wand in forward head
  • Replace canvas/eisenglass enclosure (quotes outstanding)
  • Replace/update helm switches (by owner)
  • Replace salon telephone outlet with 110v/USB outlet (by owner)
  • Wash & wax hull

2025/2026:


  • Service mains and generator: Oil & filter change & inspect belts, hoses, electrical connections
  • Change impellers in mains & generator
  • Replace 3 main batteries
  • Replace/update cockpit vinyl

  • Remove 50A and 20A battery chargers and replace with one (1) 60A 3-bank charger
